Thieves target restaurants through drive-thru windows, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) — Thieves targeted several restaurants across the city Tuesday morning, including using the drive-thru window to enter, Chicago police said.

The first incident occurred at about 3:25 a.m. in the 4400-block of North Pulaski Road.

Police said a male suspect entered a business, took out a gun and demanded money. The suspect then took a cash register before fleeing on foot.

At about 3:32 a.m. in the 2300-block of North Ashland Avenue, police said four suspects entered a business through a drive-thru window.

Once they got inside, police said they removed cash registers and then fled in a black sedan.

At about 4:20 a.m. in the 1600-block of South Blue Island Avenue, police said three male suspects entered through a drive-thru window.

The suspects then took out guns and removed a cash register before fleeing in a black sedan, police said.

No injuries were reported in any of the incidents.
