Home Depot receipt from past sale printed out – then item was returned and $49k vanished and attention turned to worker

A FORMER Home Depot worker is among one of three people arrested in connection with a slew of thefts.

Cops claimed the suspects stole expensive items such as power tools from stores in the Miami-Dade area before trying to resell them online.

Police said the trio raked in $49,000 by printing a receipt before checking out an item using the same product code, per The Miami Herald.

The suspects then tried to return the product for cash.

Lazaro Dunier Echevarria was identified as a former Home Depot loss prevention worker.

Cops claimed he would open cabinets that were previously locked.

Meanwhile, Jose Bello-Valdez has been accused of stealing goods.

Police revealed that he was spotted swindling goods from a store in Kendall last November.

Among the items allegedly stolen were more than a dozen Dewalt Atomic cordless drill kits.

Five Milwaukee blower kits were also allegedly stolen, per police.

Police said four Milwaukee fuel hatchet pruning saws were allegedly taken.

It’s estimated the value of the allegedly stolen items was more than $6,000.

Cops claimed Yoannys Montano-Solano, 44, listed some of the items online on sites such as Facebook Marketplace.

Police said the price would be considerably lower than what’s advertised in-store.

Cops revealed they combed two properties and found more than a thousand products.

They estimated their value was more than $250,000.

Police records, seen by The U.S. Sun, reveal the trio has been hit with a slew of charges.

SUSPECTS CHARGED

Echevarria has been charged with 16 counts of third-degree theft.

He has also been hit with six charges relating to petit theft, as well as organized fraud.

The former staffer also faces organized fraud and stolen property charges.

Echevarria pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Montano was slapped with 11 charges related to dealing with stolen goods.

He has also been charged with a count of third-degree grand theft.

Bello-Valdez also faces a raft of third-degree grand theft charges, as well as a charge of organized fraud.

A spokesperson for The Home Depot told The U.S. Sun Echevarria is no longer with the company.

The U.S. Sun has approached the Miami-Dade Police Department for comment.
