The plonk that has been recalled is Kirkland’s Signature Prosecco Valdobbiadene, which was sold at warehouses between April 25 and August 26.
It could be bought across 13 states, including Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
Shoppers were told about the recall on September 12 and they have been warned not to open the alcohol.
Costco has warned customers that the bottles could shatter even if they’re unopened.
They should wrap it in paper towels before putting it in a plastic bag, according to a letter sent out to its members.
Then, the bag should be put inside a garbage can.
This is to reduce the risk of shoppers being injured by broken glass shards.
Shoppers have been urged not to return the product to their local warehouse.
The wholesaler recommends shoppers to take the letter to their local store so they can get their money back.
A raft of different products have been recalled in recent months.
Federal safety chiefs have warned that a mini fridge can pose a safety risk.
The recall affects two different sizes of a Paris Hilton mini-fridge: a four liter, and 10 liter version.
Officials have warned that the fridge’s electrical switch can short-circuit and overheat, increasing the risks of fires.
The mini-fridge was sold at popular retailers such as Walmart and Amazon between November 2022 and July 2025.
Shoppers had to fork out up to $60 for the 10-liter version.
Two types of macaroni and cheese was recalled after undeclared ingredients were spotted.
Five lots of a vegan mac and cheese were recalled because they may contain milk, but the ingredient was not declared on the label.
And, three lots of a truffle flavored cheddar and shells product were recalled after traces of cashew were spotted.
But, the nut wasn’t declared on its packaging.

Food and Drug Administration chiefs warned undeclared ingredients can cause some consumers to experience allergic reactions.
More than 57,000 frozen meals found to contain shrimp have also been recently recalled.
How to handle product recall
FOOD Safety experts insist that shoppers shouldn’t panic if they’re affected by a recall, as many are harmless.
However, consumers should take each warning seriously and follow the necessary steps to protect themselves.
Oftentimes, food manufacturers issue recalls as a precautionary measure, so there likely isn’t a foodborne illness hiding in your pantry.
However, even if the recall is merely a precaution, shoppers should always stay safe and not consume the affected items.
Experts advise people to keep a product closed if it hasn’t been opened, and never feed it to a pet or donate it to food banks.
Anyone who has handled or opened an affected item should wash their hands thoroughly with warm water and soap for 20 seconds.
Read the recall closely for specific instructions on how to get rid of the food item.
Typically, the brand will ask consumers to return the recalled product to the store where they purchased it for a full refund.
Sometimes shoppers will also be asked to throw it away so that no one else can eat it.
