Police say Joshua Hombrebueno of Oxon Hill, Md. was working at Gustave Boulangerie when he recorded female colleagues in the restroom.
ALEXANDRIA, Va. — An employee at a French restaurant in Alexandria is facing criminal charges after he was allegedly caught recording women and young girls in an employee restroom.
Alexandria police charged 20-year-old Joshua Hombrebueno with three felony counts and nine misdemeanor counts of unlawful creation of an image of another.
They say that the Oxon Hill, Md. man was working at Gustave Boulangerie when a woman and her 3-year-old daughter discovered an iPhone camera concealed inside a female employees’ bathroom vanity on Sept. 20.
Police recovered recordings depicting multiple victims – both adults and children – using the restroom.
Using a search warrant, the police investigated the device and identified several victims who wanted to press charges against Hombrebueno.
Hombrebueno surrendered to police on Tuesday. He was taken into custody without incident, according to police.
“This was a deeply troubling case involving serious violations of privacy. Our detectives acted swiftly to identify victims and ensure accountability. We are grateful to the community members who came forward to assist with this investigation,” said Tina Laguna, Alexandria Police Department Assistant Chief of Police of the Investigative Support Bureau.
According to police, the investigation is still active.
