Woman arrested for criminal trespass and possession of a syringe with meth at Walmart

BEDFORD – A Bedford woman was arrested on Sunday after she allegedly entered the local Walmart despite having an active no-trespass order against her. The arrest led to the discovery of a syringe containing methamphetamine.

At approximately 2:45 p.m. on September 28, Bedford Police officers were dispatched to the Walmart located on John Williams Boulevard after a store employee reported that a previously trespassed female was inside the store.

Officers confirmed the trespass order against the individual, identified as Lakesha Cobb, 33, of Bedford, was still active and valid until October 11, 2025.

Officer Bryce Bower located Cobb inside the store and informed her that she had violated the active trespass order. Cobb stated she believed the trespass had expired. She was placed in handcuffs and transported to the Lawrence County Jail. She was also issued a new trespass warning, which she acknowledged.

A search of Cobb’s belongings, conducted at the Bedford Police Department, led to the discovery of a loaded hypodermic syringe in the front pocket of her bag. The liquid inside the syringe was field-tested and yielded a positive result for methamphetamine.

She was subsequently placed in the custody of the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department on charges of criminal trespass and unlawful possession of a syringe.

All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. This article is based on the information provided in the Probable Cause Affidavit and does not represent a final determination of guilt or innocence.
