In what could become a trend for other telcos, Vodafone has unveiled an offer for mobile customers on other MNO networks to participate in a free 7-day network trial in London.
The free 7-day trial requires users to have an eSIM compatible smartphone, and includes 50GB of data, 500 minutes and 500 texts.
To be included in the trial, non-Vodafone mobile customers must simply scan a QR code which Vodafone has displayed across London or visit the Vodafone website and install the eSIM via the My Vodafone app.
Customers can join the network trial without changing their existing number or swapping their SIM card, and can switch between Vodafone’s network and their current provider through their device settings.

“As London’s Best Network, we pride ourselves on connecting this great city to the people and things they love,” said Rob Winterschladen, Consumer Director, Vodafone UK.
“We know how important it is for people to stay connected, so they can work on the move, stream their favourite TV show or movie, or simply contact friends and family.
“With no strings attached, customers of any network have a chance to join our trial for seven days, completely free of charge.
“So, if they’re experiencing issues with their current provider or just fancy trying London’s Best Network, then now is the perfect time.”
Vodafone says it is planning on rolling the trial out across different cities in 2025.
The telco says it will also bring the trial to some of the UK’s most loved festivals, such as Glastonbury Festival and Boardmasters Festival.
