A RETAIL expert has warned Target shoppers to brace for more controversial decisions from the store.
Over the past month, Target unveiled several LGBTQ-friendly Christmas decorations, sparking backlash from some of their shoppers.
Consumers’ Research executive director Will Hild believes Target won’t be changing its behavior.
“Recent comments by Target’s CEO blaming consumers for having the temerity to push back on his decisions indicate that he will probably stick his finger in the eye of the consumer once again,” he said to Fox News.
Target’s new line of Christmas decorations includes a Pride Christmas Nutcracker Figure and a Fabriché Pride Santa.
These items that have been met with some pushback, similar to Target’s Pride line released in the summer, which had to be taken down due to consumer complaints.

“Given their insistence on continuing to sell products with LGBTQ-themed propaganda aimed at children, I would not be surprised to see Target ignore all of the feedback that they got from consumers this past year,” continued Hild.
“The recent news that Target has released a line of LGBTQ-themed Christmas products and apparel is more of the same from their CEO.”
Hild called it “unfortunate” that Target continues to act in the same patterns, claiming that their stock prices and sales have been affected.
“And yet they don’t seem to be learning any of the lessons of this,” he said.

“Unlike many other companies that have toned down the woke politics in their stores, including their competitor, Walmart.”
Target CEO Brian Cornell has discussed consumer reaction to some of Target’s Pride products, condemning the aggressive behavior he witnessed.
“I’ve seen natural disasters,” he said to CNBC.
“We’ve seen the impact of Covid leading into the pandemic. Some of the violence that took place after George Floyd’s murder.”
But I will tell you, Becky, what I saw back in May is the first time since I’ve been in this job where I had store team members saying, ‘It’s not safe to come to work.’”
Customers have taken to social media to complain about Target’s new products.
“Go woke go broke,” wrote someone on X, the platform previously known as Twitter.
“Why do people support these businesses that don’t support us?”
Target has been reached out for comment.
