WASHINGTON — Steak ‘n Shake is revamping its restaurants with the “biggest” and “tallest” American flag that local laws allow.
In a social media post on Saturday, the burger fast food chain announced the change coming to its restaurants.
“The flag installations have begun at Steak n Shake. Every Steak n Shake is getting the tallest and biggest American flag that local governments will allow!” the Indianapolis-based chain said on X. “Steak n Shake proudly supports American values and traditions.”
The post also included a photo of staff standing under a large American flag in front of a Steak ‘n Shake.

“I’m ordering from there tomorrow!” Elon Musk replied to the post on Sunday.
This isn’t the first time Steak ‘n Shake has highlighted its patriotism online.
Earlier this year, Steak ‘n Shake criticized Cracker Barrel for its logo redesign, which drew a wave of outcry, including from President Donald Trump.
“Sometimes, people want to change things just to put their own personality on things. At CB, their goal is to just delete the personality altogether. Hence, the elimination of the “old-timer” from the signage. Heritage is what got Cracker Barrel this far, and now the CEO wants to just scrape it all away,” the restaurant said in an X post on Aug. 21. “At Steak n Shake, we take pride in our history, our families, and American values. All are welcome. We will never market ourselves away from our past in a cheap effort to gain the approval of trend seekers.”
Cracker Barrel reversed its decision to change the traditional logo after online backlash.
