A CALIFORNIA woman has been arrested after she returned to a Walmart store after supposedly shoplifting from there.
Dena Hammond was caught attempting to return merchandise she initially took from the Sonora, California store that had not been paid for.
Hammond, from Merced, California, around 57 miles south of Sonora, allegedly provided the police with a false name and date of birth., according to myMotherLode.com.
The Walmart store on Sanguinetti Road reported a theft in progress to local cops.
Hammond, 33, was found by police inside the store as she attempted to return allegedly stolen items.
The suspect supposedly has a number of outstanding arrest warrants and drugs were reportedly discovered at her property during a police check, according to myMotherLode.com.

Police then arrested Hammond for grand theft, false identification with a police officer, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A warrant was also out for Hammond in her local Merced County with a total bail amount of $20,000, according to Merced Area Crime Stoppers.
Hammond was wanted on felony charges of bringing contraband into a jail and for the possession of controlled substances and paraphernalia in a custodial facility.

Walmart has recently faced growing issues surrounding theft and shrinkage in its stores.
Shrink is a term that describes when a retailer has less stock in its store than on record.
This can happen through theft but also the items being scanned incorrectly and honest mistakes at self-checkout, The US Sun has previously reported.
The president of Walmart Canada, Gonzalo Gebra, warned that the chain had suffered from a lack of profits and theft.
He also blamed a string of store closures in the country on these factors.
Walmart’s CEO in the US, Doug McMillon also complained that theft had risen across stores last year.
“Theft is an issue. It’s higher than what it has historically been,” he told CNBC.
