Authorities in New Jersey are searching for a man who busted into a Dunkin store in Newark over the weekend, and then made off with approximately $10,000 in cash.
The burglary occurred on Sunday at a Dunkin located in the 100 block of Bergen Street, Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr. told NJ Advance Media.
When officers arrived on the scene around 9:30 p.m., they found that the glass front door leading into the store had been shattered, but no suspect was inside.
Surveillance video from the store shows a man breaking through the door and making his way inside, police said.
“He made his way to a back office, where he rummaged through drawers and storage areas until he opened a file cabinet with the cash,” Miranda added.
Outside the store, he was confronted by a delivery driver before he eventually fled the scene. Days later, and authorities are still working to identify the suspect, who remains at large.
He was described as a male with a goatee.
He was spotted wearing a long-sleeved white shirt and black pants with red-and-white designs on both legs. He also appeared shirtless at one point in the surveillance video, revealing a pair of large chest tattoos.
Anyone with information in the case has been asked to contact the Newark Police Department.
