A WALMART had to be evacuated after an alleged shooting with police warning shoppers to avoid the area.

Officers swarmed the retailer at Dimond Center in Anchorage, Alaska on Sunday, guiding customers into the parking lot.

“Please avoid the area if you can and follow the instructions of officers if you do need to be in the vicinity,” said the Anchorage Police Department in a Facebook post.

At this time, there are no road closures, police added.

Video on social media showed several police and emergency vehicles outside the store.

Police tape cordoning off the scene was also visible.

“Police have the whole scene over at Walmart,” said a person, who posted a video of the area on Facebook. “Blocked off the whole entrance.”

No arrests have been made as of writing.

The Anchorage Police Department told The US Sun that the investigation was still in the early stages and did not reveal any more information.
