An off-duty NYPD officer shot a man in a Bronx furniture store on Thursday, according to police.

The 42-year-old man walked into Hollywood Touch of Class Furniture Mattress and Linen on White Plains Road near E. 229th St. in Wakefield, where the 30-year-old cop was shopping around 3:05 p.m., authorities and sources said.

A witness watched as the older man pulled up to the shop on a standup scooter.

“He was rocking and walking,” Ryan Willis, 46, told the Daily News. “You could smell the alcohol on him. There are pool tables in the back [of the store] and people hang out here.”

When he got inside, the man argued with the officer, who pulled out his gun and fired off a single shot, police said.

The bullet hit the man in the left arm and grazed his chest, they added.

“I saw him when they brought him out to the ambulance,” said Willis. “His body was wrapped in a shirt. He was bleeding from his left side.”

The man was taken to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was expected to recover. The officer, who cop sources say just graduated from the Police Academy, was not injured.

“The cop is a cool guy loved by the community,” Willis said. “He’s a real peaceful man.”

Multiple customers in the store made conflicting statements to police on what happened before the gunfire erupted, sources said.

“There are more questions than there are answers,” a police source said.

The NYPD’s Force Investigation Division is investigating the shooting.
