Some fan-favorite restaurants are going big this National Taco Tuesday, offering deals and freebies on Tuesday, Oct. 7.
WASHINGTON — National Taco Day is officially here, giving taco lovers a lot more to celebrate this Taco Tuesday.
The foodie holiday is celebrated on the first Tuesday in October, but it wasn’t always this way.
National Taco Day has historically been celebrated on Oct. 4, a date that rarely coincides with Taco Tuesday. In September 2024, Taco Bell and National Day Calendar officially moved the taco-themed day to the first Tuesday in October. The change came after Taco John relinquished trademark over “Taco Tuesday” in 2023 following a trademark dispute.
“For years, we’ve celebrated National Taco Day on October 4th, but it’s always felt like there was a bigger opportunity to align it with something even more special—Taco Tuesday,” Marlo Anderson, founder of National Day Calendar, said in a statement at the time. “Thanks to Taco Bell’s efforts, we’re excited to officially move National Taco Day to the first Tuesday in October, creating the Taco Tuesday of all Taco Tuesdays.”
Several restaurants are going big this National Taco Tuesday, offering deals and freebies on Tuesday, Oct. 7.
