A SHOPPER has suggested that a grocery store and fast food chain run the border instead of the United States government.
The customer expressed his suggestion in regard to how seriously both chains take receipt checking.
“Try getting OUT of Costco without your receipt…maybe Costco and Chick-fil-A should be in control of the border….secure and efficient,” read the tweet posted to X, formerly known as Twitter.
A handful of comments all felt the same way and the users bounced off each other with replies.
“I was JUST about to say the same. It’s like being at the DMV,” read a response.
The user who posted the initial tweet replied, “Try getting into Costco without an ID.”

“It’s harder to get into Costco than it is to vote in our elections,” replied another.
Costco has had endless complaints from customers regarding their receipt-checking procedures.
In one instance, a customer posted a response to a question on X asking, “Who’s not police but FEELS like police to you?”
“The Costco employees who check your receipt at the door,” wrote one person.

Costco wrote that it was “standard practice” to verify any purchases.
The reason behind this is to “double-check that the items purchased have been correctly processed by our cashiers,” according to Costco’s website.
“It is our most effective method of maintaining accuracy in inventory control, and it’s also a good way to ensure that our members have been charged properly for their purchases,” the company added.
CHICK-FIL-A EFFICIENCY
The chicken-only company has been known for its long lines, yet fast and well organized service.
In 2021, the company stated that they sometimes serve over 100 cars per hour in the drive-thru during peak hours.
The chain relies on handheld tablets that employees use as they walk through the drive-thru lanes.
This technology allows the employees to take the order and get it to the kitchen immediately versus customers using a traditional speaker box — the company calls this Face-to-Face Ordering.
“It’s a great way for us to get really high volumes of orders to the kitchen early and cars through the drive-thru extremely efficiently,” said Artie Sposaro, leader of the Chick-fil-A-Drive-Thru Innovation Team.
“It’s also a way for us to give customers personalized service in a place they may not expect it.”
The U.S. Sun has reached out to Costco and Chick-fil-A for comment.
