The latest Jack in the Box promotion is a Fortnite partnership.
Jack in the Box Inc. is teaming up with a popular immersive gaming platform to let customers compete to get promoted to CEO – virtually.
The hamburger chain is launching a new metaverse promotion, “Jack’s CEO Minigames,” which offers a Jack in the Box-themed virtual world based on classic maps from the Fortnite immersive virtual game.
Up to 12 players can compete simultaneously to navigate the retailer’s “Jack Box” mascot through environments built with its “Munchie Meal” items, such as curly fries and tiny tacos.
Players compete in seven random minigames in a “battle royale” format. After each minigame round, players earn experience points that help them get promoted to the next rank with the ultimate goal of reaching CEO status, rising through the ranks of intern, manager, director, VP, and finally CEO of minigames.
After each minigame, players return to the virtual lobby and chat with the “Jack Box” mascot to vote on the next minigame they want to play and then compete in the minigame that receives the most votes.
To celebrate the launch of its Fortnite promotion, Jack in the Box customers can obtain a secret, exclusive wearable Jack head for their virtual characters by purchasing a Munchie Meal with a Coca-Cola beverage through the retailer’s app.
