A WALMART shopper was left fuming after they were forced to keep an item in an anti-theft device during checkout.

The shopper uploaded the video to TikTok, showing their Walmart haul – but the biggest eye sore was the box of Dove soap.

The soap was still locked in an anti-theft box.

“It took me 20 minutes to purse soap,” read the onscreen text on the video @GastricSleeveGrammy uploaded.

Shoppers have to call an employee to retrieve the item from the locked box, lengthening the time spent in the store.

In the caption, the user said that other people’s actions have consequences, referring to retail theft.

“I was told they steal soap, body wash, and toothpaste in Dallas Walmarts that they have to be locked in a case,” read the caption.

“It took me 20 minutes to purchase soap wtf is the world coming to?!?!”

A rise in retail theft has caused stores like Walmart to crack down and implement anti-theft devices such as the one seen in the video.

Some of these have deterred shoppers from buying certain items in stores.

“That’s why I get all my stuff like that from Amazon,” read one comment. “Two-day, sometimes same day and I don’t have to deal with Walmart.”

“I want purchase any makeup from our Walmart you wait for 30 minutes and sometimes longer,” read another comment. “I go to Walgreens!”

NO WAY

Walmart shoppers haven’t been shy about sharing their thoughts on the anti-theft measures.

One woman documented her experience with her infant.

Deprejuna Lashai (@deprejunalashai4) uploaded a video to TikTok, explaining that she planned on grabbing a few items from Walmart before leaving.

She said she didn’t have much time and decided to put her baby’s car seat in the basket of her cart instead of bringing the stroller inside.

Deprejuna bought body wash before moving to the baby formula aisle but all of the containers of formula were locked shut.

“My baby needs some milk, but it’s locked up so we gotta wait for attendance.” she said.

The mother also had to buy specific distilled water to make bottles for her child.

However, as she left the store, she saw someone get arrested for stealing.

“We gotta get in the car because somebody’s going to jail,” said the user in haste.
