According to investigators, the driver then got out of the vehicle and fled on foot, leading to a multi-agency search for them.
In an update shared late Friday, the FHP stated four arrests had been made in the case: Maurice Campbell, 27, of Miramar; Winston McKnight, 25, of Sunrise; Ronald Vassell, 27 of Lauderhill; and Madison Rodriguez, 20, of Hialeah. Those four were being booked in Orange County at that time, according to FHP.
Evidence suggests there may have been another subject involved in the incident — an adult male — and anyone with information about the case is asked to contact FHP, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office or Crimeline as the investigation continues, troopers said.
No additional information has been provided at this time.
