In its March issue, MMR recognizes 75 women who are among the best and brightest leaders in the retail industry today. This year, for the first time, we are putting outstanding executives from the supplier community in the spotlight along with their counterparts at retail companies. What all of the leaders profiled in the issue have in common is talent, hard work and a dedication to advancing their businesses by addressing the needs of their immediate customers and the end consumers.
This year, MMR honors one of our very own, Alisa Dart, Sr. VP of Asset Protection & Safety for Dollar Tree, inc.
As senior vice president of asset protection and safety for Dollar Tree Inc., Alisa Dart oversees two major functions: asset protection and environmental health and safety for the company and its more than 16,000 Dollar Tree and Family Dollar stores. Her approach to the role emphasizes nurturing a culture of innovation and collaboration with a focus on continuous improvement.
“Dollar Tree is an incredibly fast-paced environment that provides a unique opportunity to manage dynamic people, projects and programs. We are a results-driven team, and we have launched both short- and long-term solutions in critical areas of the business, including store safety, workplace violence prevention and shrink reduction strategies,” Dart said.
Dart joined Dollar Tree Inc in April 2023 in her current position. The move capped a career spanning more than 25 years. Prior to joining Dollar Tree, she was group VP of asset protection for Albertsons Cos. Before Albertsons, Dart was national director of loss prevention at Nordstrom. Prior to that role, she worked for more than 11 years at Macy’s Inc., accepting various roles of increasing responsibility and leadership including district security director, regional VP of loss prevention, national VP of asset protection and national VP of operations and asset protection for the department store chain.
Dart graduated from Northeastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice. She earned a Master of Science degree in criminal justice and public safety from Lewis University, a private institution in Romeoville, Ill.
Dart noted that she has been fortunate to learn from great leaders and to be part of some amazing teams.
