WASHINGTON — Two employees of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority have been charged after authorities say they leaked a video of the American Airlines Flight 5342 crash with an Army Black Hawk helicopter to CNN.
The MWAA said in a statement that the employees made an “unauthorized copy” of the video and gave it to the media outlet.
A Rockville man was charged with computer trespass. He was booked into the Arlington County Adult Detention Center and later released on his own recognizance.
An Upper Marlboro man was also charged with computer trespass. He was released on a summons by the magistrate.

Sixty-seven people were killed in Wednesday night’s crash when the American Airlines flight collided with the helicopter midair and crashed down into the Potomac River ─ 60 passengers and four crew members were on the plane and three soldiers were on the helicopter.
Crews are still searching for remains.
