He was identified as Lucas Lembck, 19, of Wayne, Penn.

A man from Pennsylvania is being criminally charged after allegedly making a bomb threat at the Urban Outfitters on Newbury Street Tuesday.

Boston Police officers met with the victim outside the store, who told them that an unknown male, later identified as Lucas Lembck, 19, of Wayne, PA, approached him while inside and said, “‘it’s national Starburst day, I want you to have this,’” passing him a yellow Starburst and a note.

The note, according to police, said “‘I have a bomb don’t say a [expletive] word.’”

Officers identified Lembck across Newbury Street, who told them he was “‘trying to be funny’ and thought the victim would know it was a ‘prank.’” He confirmed the Starbucks he handed to the victim was yellow, and police found more Starbursts in his jacket pocket along with paper that matched the note given to the victim.

“It’s difficult to fathom how in this day and age anyone would consider it a prank to hand a note to the perfect stranger in the middle of a major city indicating they were holding a bomb,” Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden said in a statement.

Lembck was arrested without incident and was charged with one count of bomb/hijack threat.

He was arraigned Wednesday in Boston Municipal Court and is due back in court April 14 for a pre-trial hearing.
