Thieves steal ATM in smash-and-grab at gas station in McKinley Park, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) — Thieve stole an ATM in a smash-and-grab Saturday morning at a gas station on the city’s Southwest Side, Chicago police said.

There was significant damage at a Shell gas station in the 3500 block of South Damen Avenue.

Police say five people were involved in the theft around 5:17 a.m. Saturday.

The front glass door of the business appeared to be destroyed. There was a damaged vehicle at the scene as well.

No injuries were reported.

Chicago police continue to investigate.
