
Retailers like Target and Walmart are pushing their holiday shopping deals earlier, allowing customers to skip the post-Thanksgiving rush.
WASHINGTON — Target is trying to get ahead of the Black Friday rush with a three-day sale in early November, offering deep discounts on a number of items shoppers will be looking for headed into the holiday season.
Target is the eighth-largest retailer in the U.S., and is a mainstay shopping destination for millions of Americans looking for Christmas gifts.
The company promised deals of 40% or more on items ranging from clothing to kitchen tools or toys.
When do Target’s Black Friday deals start?
Target’s “Early Black Friday” deals begin Nov. 2. The company said it would begin putting out new deals every Sunday starting with the first week of November, all the way through Dec. 24.
The first week will include deals on Apple electronics, headphones and other tech. Here’s the full list:
- Up to 50% off floorcare
- Up to $200 savings on select Apple devices
- Up to 40% off tech, including headphones, TVs and wearable tech
- 20% off slippers for all
- 25% off one toy or kids’ book via Target Circle, available through Nov 15
A 3-day sale weeks before Thanksgiving
The main event for Target will be the Early Black Friday sale from Nov. 6 through Nov. 8.
Target said it would offer early bird shoppers 40% or higher discounts on big-name items, plus savings on groceries and other household essentials.
Here’s what Target says will be on sale:
- 40% off pajamas for all
- 40% off select holiday décor and lights
- 40% off select Lego products
- 40% off women’s and kids’ sweaters, sweatshirts and sweatpants, including All in Motion and JoyLab
- 40% off Cat & Jack toddlers’ tees, and dresses
- 40% off holiday sheets
- Up to 50% off small appliances and floorcare, including Ninja
- Up to 50% off select toys, including Barbie, FAO Schwarz and Hot Wheels
- 30% off women’s and men’s Levi’s apparel
Will there be an actual Black Friday sale?
Anybody thinking about walking through stores as an after-Thanksgiving tradition, don’t worry. Target is still planning to host an actual Black Friday sale. Those discounts will start online on Thanksgiving, Nov. 27, and in-store on Friday, Nov. 28.
Details about what exactly Target will have discounts on for the Black Friday sale haven’t been released yet.
Walmart will also bring Black Friday deals
Walmart, the nation’s largest retailer, is also bringing Black Friday shopping early, with sales starting Nov. 13.
The first Black Friday sale at Walmart begins online Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. ET for Walmart+ members, then continues online and in stores from Nov. 14-16.
Some of the featured deals for the first sale include: 98” TCL QLED 4K Google TV for $998 (Was $1,798), Cricut Explore 3 Bundle for $197.99 (Was $410), Dyson V12 Detect Slim Cordless Vacuum Cleaner for $399.99 (Was $729), Reebok Women’s Sport 2-piece set for $25 (Was $40), Govee 65” LED Lights for $69.99 (Was $99).
The first sale will also include $30 off Goodyear Reliant All-Season Tires (entire line), $13 Cozy Haven Faux Fur Throw Blankets and $15.99 Cate & Chloe Lauren 18k White Gold Plated 22mm Hoop Earrings with Swarovski Crystals (Was $130).
The second Black Friday sale begins online for Walmart+ members at 7 p.m. ET on Nov. 24, continuing online for everyone else from Nov. 25-27. The sales then begin in stores for Black Friday weekend: Nov. 28- Nov. 30.
