A WALMART shopper has shared her harrowing experience claiming to be followed around the store — and an employee said it wasn’t the first time this had happened.

The shopper thoroughly explained an encounter she had at a Super Walmart in Tampa, Florida.

“Y’all know that saying that’s like, ‘You never know what to do in a situation until it happens to you?’ Well, storytime,” said TikToker Chloe (@iamchlolauren) in her video from January.

Chloe said that she goes out of her way to a specific Walmart because it is “always stocked up and the people are nicer.”

However, her experience that evening may have changed her perspective on the store.

She arrived at the busy story and while going up and down the aisles, she noticed a man that seemed to be in every aisle with her.

“It wouldn’t have struck me as weird, I wouldn’t even maybe paid that much attention to it, but when I reached to get something off of a shelf, I could feel him, like, closely behind me,” she recalled.

Chloe said she was startled, wondering why he was so close to her.

She moved from the produce section at the front of the store to the dairy section which was in the back.

The shopper realized he was there again and said that she wouldn’t have normally paid attention to him if he hadn’t been so close to her in another aisle.

She then moved to the baby section, but the man followed her there as well.

“He was there too, and he was staring right at me,” she expressed.

“We made eye contact.”

Once making eye contact with the man, Chloe realized he didn’t have a basket or a child, so he had no reason to be in the aisle.

She noted that she normally wouldn’t pay attention to something like this because she is often distracted by her children.

“But he was like, right there. Every step that I made, he was right there,” she said.

Chloe knew something wasn’t right, so when she saw a worker she asked for help.

She claimed the man began to walk down the aisle in the opposite direction when he realized Chloe and the worker were looking at him.

When security arrived, Chloe pointed out the man who was following her and claimed that the man began to walk toward them.

She explained that he now put his hood up and was “bold” to walk toward them.

Chloe said security “jumped right on it” and confronted the man.

Uncertain of what was going to happen and feeling uncomfortable, Chloe decided to leave the situation and checkout.

While at checkout, Chloe began to wonder what happened to the man.

Concerned that he could be waiting outside for her, she decided to ask someone to walk her to her car.

“As I’m telling her that, the security is looking for him,” she said.

“Head on a swivel, just looking around—they go out the store.”

At this point, Chloe was desperate to leave the store and asked a worker who she often sees if he could help her find someone to walk her to her car.

The employee offered to walk her to her car which she gladly accepted.

While in the parking lot, Chloe told the worker what happened and if situations like that had happened there before.

“Yes, three times in the last two months,” he reportedly responded.

“I’m shook. I’m like, ‘three times?’” Chloe said.

“‘Y’all need top-flight security ’cause this is crazy.’”

The worker reportedly told Chloe she was the second person to tell him about being followed that month.

The man then reportedly asked, “By any chance, is he a tall, Black guy wearing black bottoms, and he had on, like, a hoodie?”

Chloe confirmed the description of the man and when the worker asked if he also had his phone out, she said yes.

The worker said that the man matched the description of the follower who had been caught at that location multiple times.

“He was probably taking your picture,” the worker reportedly said

Chloe said she immediately got chills “because this man needs to be stopped.”

“Maybe his only intention was to be a creep and take pictures, which is disturbing,” she added.

“But also, who knows, and who’s about to wait around and find out what else he might do?”

Chloe explained that she never thought something like that would happen to her and that she would need to get security involved.

“I would have never even given this another thought before had I not seen videos of women speaking up and bringing awareness to stuff like this happening in grocery stores and parking lots,” she said.

“Pay attention to your surroundings.

“Ladies, this is real.”

The U.S. Sun previously reported on a mother and daughter who were followed around Walmart in 2022.
