‘Please don’t steal,’ Walmart shopper begs after being forced to put purchases into locked box just to bring to checkout

A WALMART shopper has pleaded to others to stop stealing after a run-in with extreme anti-theft measures.

The makeup section at her Walmart store was completely locked-up and any item she chose had to be placed in a locked box until she went to checkout.

TikToker Kelly Andel (@kellyandelexprealty) explained how the anti-theft measure went down and called for people to stop stealing.

Andel captioned the video, “Please don’t steal. Let’s not take things that don’t belong to us.”

She tagged the location of the video in Pearland, Texas.

“You guys look at this,” Andel said in the video

“I’ve never seen this before in my life.”

Every single makeup item was seen locked behind a clear glass case at Andel’s Walmart in the video.

To retrieve makeup items, Andel had to press a button to call over an employee.

“I’m at Walmart, all the makeup is locked,” Andel said.

“I had to push the button to get this lady to come help me.”

All the makeup Andel chose then had to be placed in another locked-up box that she could take with her to checkout.

The makeup would then be unlocked from the box once it was paid for.

“And then whatever I picked she put it in this locked container that I have to take to the front to check out,” Andel explained.

Andel has personally declared the anti-theft measure as ridiculous.

She believes people should just stop stealing to prevent this.

“This is absolutely ridiculous. Just quit stealing,” Andel said.

There were mixed responses from people in the comments on Andel’s video.

Some agreed with the anti-theft measure as a way to stop thieves, while others saw it as extreme as well.

“I had to push the button to get my wife’s makeup sponges. It was the last time for sure,” one commenter said.

“Everyone blaming Walmart. Y’all it’s literally the ppl stealing every d**n day and posting like it’s funny. Not Walmart’s fault,” a second commenter said.

“To be honest, I’m actually happy that way when I go to choose a makeup it hasn’t already been used or it’s not smeared all over the place,” this commenter said.
