A SHOPPER showed how a new anti-theft measure could impact customers at some popular retailers.
The TikToker showed a video of how a new system could prevent shoppers from using their carts outside of the store.
Apex Predator Outfitters (@apexpredatoroutfitters) shared a video of a customer attempting to exit a store with her shopping cart.
Another customer can be heard warning her about what would happen next.
“You can’t leave with,” the recorder said before the woman’s cart stopped as she attempted to walk out of the store’s doors.
Apex Predator Outfitters then explained that the reason her cart abruptly stopped was due to a new anti-theft measure.

“Apparently people stealing carts is such a huge problem that they had to put some mitigating measures in place,” he said.
“Basically if you take the cart outside of the store all the wheels lock up and they don’t roll nowhere.
“The more you know,” he added.
The TikToker claimed that the measure was not available at all stores but some retailers have started to roll it out.

“A few stores have rolled out like Target and Albertsons,” he said.
The measure proved to be controversial among TikTokers in the video’s comment section.
“How do you get all your stuff back to the car then,” one person asked.
“They better pay someone to carry all my groceries out to the car then. Otherwise I’m shopping elsewhere,” another person commented.
“A lot of People use the bus and they should have a way to get their stuff to the bus stop,” added another person.
The U.S. Sun has previously explained how the technology behind these carts works.
